Each comes with a slew of choices, and each choice is basically a paired still shot and video. What Apple's done here is a bit fancier, because these video wallpapers are designed to smoothly transition from static shots used as wallpaper to beautiful video of the same location in motion.Īpple gives you a few options to choose from, between landscapes, cityscapes, animal videos and aerial views. They're simple to set up, but the term "video screensaver" sort of undersells the fun here because it makes you think of one of those old flying toaster screensavers you used to see on Macs in the '90s. The new video wallpapers come with matching (and beautiful) wallpapers in macOS Sonoma, each designed to subtly transition into a moving video of the landscape. They're simple to use, and can be found in the General > Wallpaper section of your Mac's Settings menu-here's a guide to how to use video screensavers in macOS Sonoma if you're not sure. Okay sure it's not as useful on a day-to-day basis as a lot of the other new features coming in macOS Sonoma, but the new video screensavers are fun and a pretty way to enjoy your new OS whenever you have downtime. This is nice to have even if you work from home alone, like I do, because you can set up different Safari profiles for different ways you use it (say, Work and Personal) and then keep your bookmarks and such separate. If you are facing issues with the ISO file, alternatively, you can use the macOS Sonoma VMDK file to run macOS Sonoma on VirtualBox and VMware. That means you can create multiple profiles for however many people use your Mac, and they can each have their own favorites, bookmarks, etc. Once you have downloaded the macOS Sonoma ISO file, you can use it to install macOS Sonoma on either VirtualBox or VMware. ![]() Plus, Safari now supports profiles as of macOS Sonoma. Safari now lets you set up different profiles (with customizable color schemes) and do smart things like set passwords on your private browsing windows.
